Ecotoxicity
Ecotoxicity describes the potential harmful effects of chemicals, pharmaceuticals or other substances on the environment and its living organisms – from plants and animals to microorganisms in an ecosystem. Both the impact on biodiversity and the functionality of ecosystems, including water, soil and air, are assessed. These tests are essential to ensure the safety of substances and to fulfil regulatory requirements.
